Huatulco
- Destinations
The resort area of Huatulco is comprised of four main regions with varying landscapes. Best known for its isolated and beautiful bays that rest against a backdrop of the Sierra Madre del Sur, the area is a mix of rocky hills and lush tropical jungle. Higher end resorts are located in the region of Tangolunda; the smaller region of the town of Santa Cruz possesses a marina and beach of the same name; the La Crucecita region provides a true Mexican ambience and the greatest number of nightspots; and, nestled between Santa Cruz and Tangolunda is the region of Chahue. When in Huatulco, live as the locals do – enjoy outdoor sports and water activities in the cool mornings, savor lunch and a Mexican siesta in the early afternoon, pick up the pace with some late afternoon shopping and then relax a little after a late supper. Fiesta begins around 10 p.m. and the clubs remain open until early morning. For those who want to swap their T-shirts and shorts for a dressier nightlife attire, the area has lively discos where the locals are happy to mix and mingle with visitors.
